Happy Fourth of July!

My mom took this picture of me today at the park, and I thought it turned out cool, so I just wanted to share. :)

Happy 4th of July! I hope everyone's 4th of July weekend is as awesome as mine has been.

My sister and I were invited by some friends to go to a special 4th event at a reenactment village. We were able to watch the fireworks, and listen to a concert of classical music by an orchestra. It was really awesome!

The stage where the orchestra performed.

Hanging out!

Me... I would like to take this opportunity to point out my vintage 1950's
dress which I got from Goodwill. It is my pride and joy. :)

The crowds!

My best friend/boyfriend and I :)

(I would like to point out real fast that by "boyfriend" I mean we are courting. I personally don't believe in dating, and I feel like the word "boyfriend" has dating connotations, so I wanted to clarify my terminology. I'll have to post my very long thoughts about courting in my next post.)

For the finale, the orchestra played the 1812 overture, complete with real canon shots and fireworks. It was epic and wonderful! (You may not recognize this song by it's title, but go ahead and give it a listen. You may know it by it's melody. It is the epitome of classical, Fourth of July music in my humble opinion, second only to the Star Spangled Banner and those other traditional patriotic songs. This is only the end of it, though, because it is honestly a 15 minute song. Maybe longer. I heard the full version in the concert,
but the end is the best part.)
